Every new family to my practice begins with a free 15-minute call so you can share your situation, and together we identify what you need and if/how I can help.
Everyone arrives at Great Brain Learning with a different set of questions. Sometimes a weekly literacy coaching meeting is needed. Other times, a single strategic conversation about a school decision is required. Sometimes, a parent needs someone to accompany them to represent their child's learning needs at a school meeting.
I offer three tiers of service so families can access exactly the level of support their situation calls for — and move between tiers as needs change.
Services: 3 Tiers of Support + Diagnostics
Tier 1 - Literacy Coaching & Tutoring
Ongoing, evidence-based literacy intervention delivered LIVE online or LIVE in person in the Greater Toronto Area.
Every Tier 1 session integrates structured phonemic instruction, decoding, fluency, comprehension, writing, and metacognitive coaching so students learn how to learn, as well as what to learn.
Tier 1 is best for:

K–12 students who struggle with reading comprehension, writing, or learning confidence

French Immersion students who need bilingual literacy support to stay in program

Post-secondary students navigating literacy demands, accommodations, or academic probation

SAT preparation, including targeted and personalized Reading and Writing practice design
What's included in every Tier 1 coaching engagement:

Individualized session plans grounded in the Science of Reading (SoR)

Instruction in English or French, depending on the student's needs

Ongoing informal parent communication — brief check-ins (under 15 minutes) about session progress, strategies to reinforce at home, and questions between sessions

Progress notes and periodic review of goals
Tier 1 services are booked here. Although coaching families typically settle into a rhythm of weekly or twice-weekly sessions, you choose when, where, and how sessions happen. You do not need to commit to a long-term "contract" to work with me.
From $150/hour
Consistent Science of Reading instruction is the explicit teaching that allows a reader who has struggled to become a confident, fluent reader — most often within a school year. Learning growth and progress are monitored using validated Response-to-Intervention protocols.
Tier 2 — Educational Consultation
Tier 2 Educational Consultations consist of dedicated conversations focused on the family's decisions and options, not the student's practice. Consultations range from a single strategic session to ongoing engagements that support a family through a complex period.
Tier 2 Educational Consultations are best for:

Parents seeking guidance on a specific decision — school placement, program choice, next steps after an assessment

Families needing to understand the "big picture" of their child's learning profile

Ongoing family strategy work through multi-week or multi-month situations (transitions of all kinds, for example, a new school, new community, program changes, and/or complex learning profiles)

Substantive strategy conversations that extend beyond the brief check-ins included in coaching
How Educational Consultations work:

Sessions run 30, 60, or 75 minutes based on the agenda, which we decide together

Available virtually or in person

Can include multiple stakeholders, including the student and/or teacher(s) as learning partners

Written summary of key takeaways and recommended next steps provided on request

Can be booked as a one-off or scheduled recurring, as the situation requires
Tier 2 services are booked here.

One well-timed conversation with the right expert often saves families months (years) and hundreds (thousands) of dollars. A productive path forward means students are receiving the support they need to become confident learners. It is never too late to do this work. Early intervention ensures that struggles with learning don't persist long-term.
Tier 3 — Advocacy
In Tier 3 support, I provide formal representation and preparation when families need someone with credentials, training, and evidence-based knowledge to intervene on their child's behalf within the school system. This is specialized work that draws on 30+ years of experience across public, private, and independent schools, and professional training in Special Education Law from Osgoode Law School (2021).
Advocacy is high-stakes and time-intensive, and draws on my doctoral-level expertise in literacy, learning disabilities, curriculum, assessment, and Educational Systems, as well as AODA training. Preparation for a single meeting typically involves several hours of review and strategy before I ever walk into the room.
Tier 3 support is best for:

Attending school team meetings, IEP meetings, IPRC meetings, or admissions meetings--alongside families or on their behalf

Formal correspondence with schools, principals, consultants, and school boards

Preparation and strategy coaching for parent-led meetings — helping families to walk into meetings prepared, clear, and confident

Escalated situations: suspensions, exclusions, program disputes, accommodation refusals, or communication breakdowns with school staff
Tier 3 advocacy engagements include:

Dr. June's review of relevant assessments, IEPs, correspondence, and all school documentation

Dr. June's written preparation notes and meeting strategy

Dr. June's attendance and active contribution at meetings (virtual or in person)

One distinct benefit of Tier 3 is Dr. June's approach to ensuring that all stakeholders have the opportunity to give and receive timely, effective input so solutions are productive and helpful. When parents have not had opportunities to ask critical questions and receive comprehensive answers from a school leadership or administrative team, inviting Dr. June into the circle leads to transformative results for the learner and the family.

In most situations, one strong and productive advocacy meeting reshapes the trajectory of an entire school year.
Diagnostics: Bilingual Learning Skills Assessment
This comprehensive learning skills assessment identifies learners' strengths and challenges in both French and/or English, providing personalized insights and tailored, effective learning strategies. It includes recommendations for parents to support metacognitive development and improve academic performance. The assessment can be conducted online or in-person, accommodating learners across Canada. It aims to empower stakeholders with actionable data for lifelong learning success.
A 10-page written report on letterhead with a complete and personalized learning plan and a full bibliography of relevant research literature is included.
